Internet Explorer 8 extremely slow on Vista

    Hello Friends,

I'm running Windows Vista as my operating system. I used to use Internet Explorer 7 as my web browser, but recently i have upgraded to Internet Explorer 8. The problem is that Internet Explorer 8 is very slow as compare to Internet Explorer 7. It takes lot of time to open any web page as compare to Internet Explorer 7. Can any one tell me that what can i do in order to increase my browser speed? Does any body have any idea about it? Kindly suggest me your views.

    Thanks a lot.

Absolutely, there is something wrong with your installation.

Can you uninstall and reinstall Internet Explorer 8 ?

Just follow the below steps mention.

    1. Click on Internet Explorer
    2. Go to to your root dir
    3. Open Documents and Settings folder
    4. Open "your username folder"
    5. Open UserData
    6. "Close IE if you have it open" rename index.dat to index.old logoff and log back on (don't need to restart)

Open up IE and go to a web page or site that always seemed to load slowly. It should load a lot more quickly now.

NOTE. Always rename or backup .dat or other system files before deleting.

This is s little tip that you can make your Internet Explorer browser to run faster.

You can make it by following the step by step below:-

Step 1: First you go to start menu and then choose run.
Step2: After you choose run,it appears a little box, then you can type regedit.
Step3: Find the key that you need by following this HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ Software\ Microsoft\ Windows\ CurrentVersion\ InternetSettings
Step4:On the right box, right click and choose new ,then continue choose DWORD Value
Step5:Type into the box : MaxConnectionsPerServer
Step6:Just right click on that key and choose modify, and then type the value that you want into the value box(when you type the large number then your browser faster)
Step7:Create another key such as MaxConnectionsPer1_0Server (do the same the above steps)
    Step8:Finish

Now just close every thing and restart your computer, then run your Internet Explorer again, see what happen. It should be run faster than usual.

    1. Remove IE 8 beta 1 if you have installed it.

    2. A restart is required so close all your programs, save all your work and click Restart Now when prompted.

    3. When rebooted into Windows, open the IE8 installer if you have it, otherwise download it.

    4. Let it update which is quite slow in my opinion.

    5. After installation, You Need To Reboot Again.
