Cannot add contact in windows live messenger

Hello,
I am using windows live messenger. When i try to add any contacts to my list, nothing happens. I can chat with the contacts but cannot add them to my contact list. I can't see anyone in my contact list after add. Can anyone help?

Go on ebuddy.com and you can log on your msn account and talk to your friends from your contact list. You can add more contacts there.
Re-add contacts from your allow list to Contact list:

• Sign in to Messenger
• Click on the "Tools" menu
• Go to "Options"
• Then click "Privacy"
• Right-click each contact on the Allow List
• then click "Add to Contact list"

Try to delete your Contacts Cache folder. In order to do this you first need to make sure you can see hidden files and system files. To delete your cached directories, go to

C:\Documents and Settings\username\Contacts\your_msn_mail

and delete the entire subdirectory named your_msn_mail.

Then browse

C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Windows Live Contacts\your_msn_mail

and delete the entire subdirectory named your_msn_mail.

An incorrect cached policy in the Windows Registry causes issues connecting to the Address Book Clearing House. To solve this:

• Click Start
• Go to Run
• Type regedit and press Enter
• Then browse: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\WindowsLive\Communications Client\Shared
• Right-click and delete it
• Exit regedit

Restart your system and sign in to messenger.
