Waiting time exceeds

Hi team,
Here I have 2 desktops and 1 laptop that I would like to network via a switch sw800 Planet
PC1 Win 2000Pro
PC2 Win XP Pro
PC3 Win 98 2nd edition

My problem is when I switch between 2 PC AC does not work anymore
I did a ping test on 2 machines but I always get the same response "waiting period exceeded demand" so I do not know what to do I put the right cables, crosses, and right crosses nothing to do
Someone could tell me what I should take cable between the PC and switch?

PC1 connects to the Internet
I tried to save on auto IP PC3 = Same
My Firewall is ZoneAlarm Pro

For now, disable your firewall or any other.
The switches accept relatively recent indifferent cables crossed and rights.
You're in the car or manual ip?

I tried all auto and manual IP on PCs "invites" but I still 192.168.0.1 on PC1

I put everything manually, and you specify in 192.168.0.1 gateway to the PC 2 and 3. Otherwise as Mac-Imagery said, ensures that you switch works well.
