How to make a New Thread / Topic on TechArena Forums

To post a topic on the Forum follow these steps. We are going to use and an example windows software problem

1. Find the appropriate section to post your problem, in this case the Windows Software section.

Choose your Sub section

2. Hit New Thread which can be found on the left side of the screen just above the Last Post information.

Create a New thread

3. Enter a short descriptive problem in the title. This will help people figure out what the thread is about.

4. Enter information about your problem in the message body. Try to include things like brands, software, O.S. version that may pertain to your problem.

Submit

5. Hit submit and your thread will be posted. Some of our users are Copa users and their messages will be added into a special section for the staff to approve first.

6. To reply to a thread all you have to do is hit reply and post in the message field.

Please make your own thread rather than hijacking another post.

And as for your question, Device names such as COMx, CON or LPTx are reserved words, and they can't be used as folder or file names.
There's also a patch released under Win 9x that plugged asecurity hole that allowed a malicious user to gain control of a remote machine because of the way Win9x parsed path names......

You cant create a folder named "CON".

coz it is the Microsoft system folder name.
