Flex vs Flash 8 operation

I need some help in differentiate between Flex and Flash 8. I need some differentiation between them on the basis of operation. There is another option called as Microsoft Silverlight which is quiet highlighted this time. What you suggest for the same. In case of compilation of a web page which is better and advance to use. Is there any limit for the same. I tried to produce a script AS3 in Flex and I have been facing some troubles.

Flash comes with a basic library less complete than that of Flex and Silverlight plugin is installed on the user's computer which contains not only the virtual machine but also the library of basic components so that Flash Player does not install the virtual machine. This results in a 1.8MB Flash plugin and a plugin Silverlight 4.7MB. The choice to include the library of basic components in the Silverlight plugin can be explained by the fact that most applications will use these components and is thus not necessary to re-download the same time each application.

Another difference between Flex and Flash is in the creation of custom components. In fact on the same hand Silverlight somewhat similar to flash can create two types of components. Firs the components that users are written in XAML and custom components that are completely written in C # to get their hands on the rendering of components. The first type is simple to write does not inherit from other components.

In Flex the creation of components is simple. To create a component, just move the piece of MXML wanted in a new file. The root tag of this piece of MXML is the parent component. To hand over the rendering of the component, simply override the appropriate method of that component (mixing MXML and AS).
