Which is the best language for .Net

I am learning Microsoft .Net tool. According to you guys which is the best language of Microsoft .Net. There are many but for a better development work which is reliable and easy. I am currently using the C# language and too is quiet easy to work on. That simply means which is the best language. Second thing what is a Mono Project in Microsoft dot net.
