    opensource alternative for crystal reports

Can anyone suggest me whether there are any alternative for crystal reports. This is because i tried using that but it is quite confusing plus it takes lot of time to make the settings for the web pages and so that am looking for another solution for web based reporting. and to handle the report generation in this we need to have some knowledge about the asp,and also the cost for its licensing is quite high. Please suggest if anybody has the possible alternative for this,
    Thank you.

Crystal Reports actually had four listed alternatives. Alternative listings have Web sites available as well as platform listings. There is a rating system installed, but most of the software I looked at didn't have ratings.Instead of four alternative i will prefer LGX Report which is a free reporting tool for web based reporting. It will provides a new set of Connection elements that simplify the process of connecting to your database server. These vendor-specific elements only require that you supply the basic information (usually the database server name, database name, user ID and password) as attribute values and they then build the correct connection string behind-the-scenes for you.

Bluyah application is also a web-based service (so no need to download/install/maintain) a separate reporting solution. It's exports can be embedded into your apps or web sites easily. The service is geared to meet the needs of small to mid-sized IT groups who are fed up and frustrated with Crystal Reports.

Report Manager has been around for quite a few years.I also found myself missing Web service listings, which is really outside the scope of this site. It's written in Delphi (at least it was originally) and has components that can be used in Delphi, but is usable via ActiveX or dll from just about any language. Now has a native .NET library too. Has a nifty report-serving webserver you can set up too.
