Re: Unable to configure MAPI with Enterprise Vault Server

The Microsoft Exchange Server MAPI Editor Tool, which is a sample MAPI client, replaces the Information Store Viewer (MDBVu32).With the MDBVu32 tool you could view or set details about a user's message storage files. These files consist of the private information store; the personal folder file (.pst), the public store, and the offline folder file (.ost). MAPI Editor provides the same or improved functionality and an improved user interface.

MAPI stands for Messaging Application Programming Interface, the system component that the Microsoft corporation has included into its Windows operating system and the API to use that component with Windows applications.

    To start MAPI Editor
    1. Double-click the mfcmapi.exe icon, and then click OK to close the Microsoft Exchange Server MAPI Editor Help screen and to display the main window.
    2. In the Microsoft Exchange Server MAPI Editor main window, click Session, and then click Logon and Display Store Table to open the mailbox.
    3. Continue with the task that you want to do.

Re: Unable to configure MAPI with Enterprise Vault Server

MAPI Logon can only start Microsoft Exchange or Windows Messaging. It does not start Microsoft Outlook 97. Outlook already supports loading a particular profile via its /profile switch.
Stop the Exchange Server services and copy the following DLLs from the original Exchange Server 5.5 disc:

    • emsmdb32.dll
    • mapi32.dll

The location on the disc is: Server\Setup\<Platform>
In case there are multiple copies of the EventConfig public folder for this server, following the steps in the following article to get rid of the duplicate public folders.
