Need free HTML text editor program for any platform windows or linux.

I am using Windows XP. I need a free HTML text Editor program. No problem if its linux platform based. I am currently using notepad.

Notepad++ is an open source program. Dreamweaver is also a good software to use. Dont know whether its free or not.
