I am going to post a small log of my problem. I am facing a problem with installation of WSS 3.0. The error source is DCOM. The complete description of error is at the end. Now I am not able to figure out where the problem is. I verified CLID in windows registry. I had also modified and applied proper permission required for Network Service account. The permission stuff also looks fine here. Can anyone tell me more about the error.

The application-specific permission settings do not grant Local Activation permission for the COM Server application with CLSID {61738644-F196-11D0-9953-00C04FD919C1} to the user NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK SERVICE SID (S-1-5-20). This security permission can be modified using the Component Services administrative tool.

According to me you are providing rights to the wrong object. The SSID should be applied for IIS WAMREG Admin service. Go in the component service and then click on your computer. There you can find DCOM config. In the right side you can find IIS WAMREG admin service. Just choose properties by right clicking on the same and go in the security tab.There you can find Launch and Activate Permission. Click on Edit and then add a network service. Again choose activation and done.
