    Critical Update for SQL Server 2005 Service Pack 2 (KB 933508)

    Just after applying Critical Update for SQL Server 2005 Service Pack 2 (KB 933508) i got below error messages.

    SQLVDI: Loc=CVDS::Cleanup. Desc=Release(ClientAliveMutex).
    ErrorCode=(288)Attempt to release mutex not owned by caller.. Process=4328.
    Thread=6812. Client. Instance=MSFW. VD=.

    Database backed up. Database: msdb, creation date(time):
    2005/10/14(02:51:30), pages dumped: 1, first LSN: 118:392:172, last LSN:
    118:472:1, number of dump devices: 1, device information: (FILE=1,

    There are some more errors, ill post them if any one need to check it out for helping me.

    That was a common issue and it has been fixed.

    FIX: Error messages and an event may be logged when you use the Virtual Device Interface in SQL Server 2005 or in SQL Server 2000

    You can go though above article and apply the Hot fix provided. That will help you out, best of luck.
