Unable to send email to hotmail from SBS2k3 Exchange 2003 error #5.5.0 smtp;550 Command rejected for policy reasons

I am not able to use hotmail on Windows SBS 2003. I am using here Exchange 2003. I am able to send mails but somehow the receiving is not working. I am looking for some policy settings that would allow me to work with the same. I error that I am getting is : domainname#5.5.0 smtp;550 Command rejected for policy reasons.>. What does the error is related to and how can I fix the same. I am not able to find a proper solution on it.

What are your exact settings. Can you post that. There can be problem with the smtp and port settings. Check the below link. It has ample of steps on the problem you are facing and you can use that to fix the issue. Unlike gmail connector there is no option available for hotmail. You have to go with the manual settings.

Could you please explain in detail, what you have changed to the DNS and reverse Zones ?

Have the same problem, but with another provider.

Are you trying to hook the same on Outlook. Or you are using some other app. There are option available that you can try out to hook hotmail. I am using gmail from long time and it is working fine. There are ample of settings available that you can try out the same with different email services. Compare to any other Gmail works the best. I had not yet tested the same on hotmail. Hope that works fine.

both hotmail and msn. I have checked to see if its blacklisted and everything comes out ok. I have heard from the company that produces the mass mailer program they use and the server setup is according to their design. So I geuss the big question is: can hotmail/msn have you on a list of their own, if your not blacklisted?
