Fax service don't send delivery receipt.

I am trying to setup the SBS 2003 Fax Service and there is this last issue that is remaining till now. In the Event Viewer, all the time I send a fax then I get this event id: 32087 "The fax service has failed to generate a positive message box delivery receipt." I also get an error code 0x000008E1 which means that username could not be found. However, in the event id text, the domain\username appears correctly. The usernam is different from the email address, is it that the Fax service is trying to use the login name to send an email to and not the user email address? Thanks for any information.

Try to follow the below method to solve this issue:

1. First of all open Server Management Console
2. After that right-click Shared Fax, Select "Properties", select "Receipts" tab and check the following settings:
   No check mark in \Message Box\Enable Message Boxes as receipts "Enable SMTP Receipts e-mail receipts delivery" is enabled
   If "From e-mail address" is listed as Administrator@domainname.com - You can change it back to default SBSFaxService@domainname.com
   Authentication - Set to Integrated Windows - You can change to Anonymous access
   Make sure there is a check mark in "Use these SMTP Settings for the Route through E-mail incoming routing method".
3. Lastly, restart the Shared Fax service and see if that works

I am having the same issue with a new install of SBS2k3.

I still do not get a pop-up window - all of my users run Win XP Pro. I am, however, getting a pop-up message on the SBS server that says the fax was sent successfully. Right message, wrong location.

Anything I can check on?
