Application Error message (spooler service stopped)

We are running SBS 2003 and very much annoyed with spooler service stopped error message. This is the complete error message:

“Faulting application spoolsv. exe, version 5.2.3790.0, faulting module ntdll.dll, version 5.2.3790.0, fault address 0x0001ed62”

I don’t have any idea what can I do with this? Where do I start? Somebody please help.

Spooler is the print spooler. Can you tell me what printer drivers have you installed? What version?

Thanks for the reply CoYoTeA. All my drivers are mostly HP 1310,1320 and 4100's.

OK, just try out the following steps and see if it works:

• Register ntdll.dll Click Start->Run...->type regsvr32 ntdll.dll and press Enter to re-register ntdll.dll
• Reinstall the printer driver on the SBS 2003, please contact with the printer hardware vendor to get the latest updates for the printer.
• Is there any third part software such as anti-virus software installed on your SBS 2003, please stop it temporally and restart the SBS 2003 to see if the issue can be clear.
• Please removing any third-party printer monitor/spooler monitor software that have installed on the SBS 2003 as a test to see if the issue can be clear.
