    SBS 2008 windows firewall problem.

I have got a Konica printer which copies to email. I have created a receive connector but no emails are received. When I turn off the firewall emails work OK. I assume I need an exception but have no idea how to add one for the printer which has a fixed IP address. I am not sure what service is relevant or if I can make an exception for the printer itself.

PS: message tracking shows that when the firewall is on it stops the email sent from the printer before it reaches the connector. Off and then I can see the messages OK in the connector.

Yes, you will need to add the printer and connector under Firewall exception list. You will have to configure the firewall. You must have admin rights to do the settings. By knowing the most proper parameters you can configure the printer under the exception list. Surely by providing the ip address of the pritner, will do the job.
