    memory usage sqlservr.exe in SBS2008

I recently did a fresh install of SBS 2008 Standard server. There are no clients connected until now. After installation I install all windows updates without any problem. After the restart, I found that sqlservr.exe is using 5.154.776kB. If am not wrong, this is large enough, right? Hence I want to adjust the max of usage if possible. If yes, how can I do the same?

Somewhere I read that it could be done from studio manager or with command line but when I try from there it says “user does not have permission”. Somebody please help.

Microsoft has introduced increased security systems model of 2008 and Windows 7. Hence you need to right click and select ‘Run as Administrator’ when you face such permission errors.

Try out the same and see if it works.

Just try out the following steps and see whathappens:
    • Login as Domain Administrator on the SBS2008 Server
    • Start the SQL tool by doing a "RUN AS Administrator"

Hopefully you will be able to make the changes.
