    SBS 2008 Backup Disk Full

I need some help with cleaning the backup drive of SBS 2008. I am using a external hard drive for that. There is a schedule backup which works automatically on a prescribed time. Now I thought it would be over writing the old backup files but some it is not. Later on I found around 197 backup files in the drive and they are still active. There was on error at all. I want to wipe out the old backup files but I am no able to find out any information on it. Does formatting everything is fine. I need some WSUS Cleanup type script that can allow me to find and delete old files.

It is safer not to delete them. You can do one thing. You can copy those files to some other place and run the backup again. Once you got the fresh files you can get rid of old one. Check your backup settings one more time and this time enable overwrite old files. There are some auto delete option available in Windows Server that allow you to get rid of files which are old and not required. So it is one of the easiest way to avoid the file loaded in your external drive. Do not remove the volume. The entire backup settings will be affected.
