SBS 2008 Stuck Applying Computer Settings

I’m having a SBS 2008 at my office running with WFBS 6.0. I was doing some troubleshooting with backup issues where my server needed to reboot. After reboot it is just stuck at “Applying Computer Settings.”At first attempt I left the system for about 2 hours but it was still there itself with the same message. SO far I have restarted it thrice but still its getting stuck at Applying Computer Settings.

Somebody please help.

Even I’m using SBS 2008 with WFBS 6.0 but never faced any such problem on my server. By the way are you using Trend Micro Firewall on the server? If yes, I guess it might be blocking the DNS, you need to check the same.

Just try unplugging the rj45 cable and see if it can boot properly.

I have been facing slow shutdown and slow startup with my SBS 2008. After long troubleshooting finally I managed to fix both problems. But as here only startup is concerned, the way I fixed it was by disabling all TM services from starting and rebooted and it came up in a timely fashion. Later I enabled all of them one by one, rebooting between each change until they were all re-enabled. See if it works for you.
