DNS issue causing "Applying computer setting issue" hang

The XP machines that we have is taking 5-6 minutes from startup to login. All hang at "Applying computer settings". I found out that it is a DNS issue but have been unable to rectify it. If I am unplugging the network cable, boot to logon is about 1 minute. I have tried on new machines, drop and rejoined to domain with no success. I have also enabled userenv loggon and noted the below errors with too many delays:

"GetUserDNSDomainName: Domain name is NT Authority. No DNS domain name available."

"USERENV(274.294) 12:40:53:188 ImpersonateUser: Failed to impersonate user with 5. USERENV(274.294) 12:40:53:188 GetUserNameAndDomain Failed to impersonate user"

I think that its a DNS issue but I am not able to move further. IPconfig settinsg from client and DC are given below:

Did you try checking DNS from the CMD Prompt after the machine boots up? Did you look in the event log for errors? Even though it could be a DNS problem, it might be also be other issues related to authentication against the DC or applying group policies. Almost all if these issues will generate errors in the event viewer without forcing you to dig into the userenv logs.

Re: DNS issue causing "Applying computer setting issue" hang

You can try to install SP2 for Exchange. You will resolve the Task Offload error, EDNS, OWA update, POP3 update and install W2k3 SP2.. If possible, then can you try to post the fresh ipconfig/ all from the server?
