Relaying denied. IP name possibly forged

I’ve a SBS 2003 with exchange server 2003. Since last couple of days I’m receiving the following error message whenever I try to send out email:

“You do not have permission to send to this recipient. For assistance, contact your system administrator.”

    Somebody please help.

Hey even am with exactly the same problem. In my case the problem occurs when I use an outgoing server mai.xxxxxxx.com. Surprisingly when I change the outgoing server to DNS, I don’t get any problem.

    Any idea what is wrong?

According to me the problem is no way related to the Exchange but with the user whomever you're using as a smarthost (or the way you connect to them). Contact whomever supports the SMTP server you use as smarthost.
