Windows 2008 R2 SP1 Windows update not applicable

I have updated my Windows 2008 R2 server with SP1 recently but today i have found that my server has missed critical windows updates. I have tried applying those patches manually as well but i get an error message saying "This update is not applicable to your computer". Is there any workaround that i can try for getting rid of this error and install those critical windows updates??

Can you try to obtain the System Update Readiness Tool. The System Update Readiness Tool is available from the Windows Update Web site. To obtain this update, follow these steps:

    1. Click Start, click Control Panel, and then click Security.
    2. Under Windows Update, click Check for updates.

Important This update is offered on Windows Update only to computers that have a condition that the tool could resolve.

Can you try to use the inbox Deployment Image Servicing and Management tool (DISM) and after that install Windows Update or service pack again. To do that you need to open command prompt with administrator rights and then type the below commands and press Enter key after every command:
    DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Scanhealth
    DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth

Once it is finished doing its thing, then close the command prompt and run Windows Update again.

Can you tell us what all updates are not getting installed in your Windows Server 2008 operating system. You can try to run the System Update Readiness Tool and check the CheckSUR.persist.log for any kind of corrupted files. You can also refer to an article based on "Advanced guidelines for diagnosing and fixing servicing corruption" on how to repiar them from this link - http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/l...79(WS.10).aspx
