    Introduction
Very few of us realise the importance of a good SMPS.Infact i must say that the SMPS is one of the core components necessary for a healthy system.

Nowadays or should i say since the days of Intel P4 and AMD Athlon XP,we have started experiencing 300 watt SMPS.
Earlier we had 230 watt SMPS.

Many of you must have realised that nowadays many peripherals like CD-Writer,DVD-Roms...have become quite cheap. This directly implies that more and more people are opting for it.
Also it is noteworthy that fast CPUs are rapidly becoming affordable.

The point i am trying to make is that when you increase no. of components like CD-Writers in your computer and use faster CPUs which consume more power, you instantly start feeling the scarcity of power supplied by your old SMPS,mostly a 230 watt one.

What is surprising is that nowadays we feel that 300 watt is also not enough.Times are changing fast my dear friends.

Anyways i will cut the crap and get down to the review straight away.

The box looks pretty impressive, lets hope the product is as good as it looks.

Let's take a look at the real product,

    Here's another view,

Here is a pic giving you onformation or details specs of the SMPS.

Now after seeing these pictures you must have got the idea about the product in general.

    Technical testing results
Here are the main values that matter the most. These values were tested with a DMM[Digital Multimeter].

    Rated Value Real Value

    12 Volts 12.34 Volts
    5 Volts 5.12 Volts
    3.3 Volts 3.4 Volts
    1.5 Volts 1.502 Volts

Please note that these values were tested after the full system was running with all components connected to it.
Here is a description of the Test System,

    Test System
    Intel P4 2.4 GHz overclocked to 3.3GHz
    Asus P4C800 [ Intel 875P Chipset ]
    1 GB DDR333 [ PC 2700 ] Ram

    1 X Northbridge [Chipset] Heatsink Fan [ 12V]
1 X Hard Disk Cooler For Maxtor SATA HDD [12V]
17" Samsung Non-Flat Monior [ Not On SMPS Power Supply]
Creative Cambridge Soundworks FPS 1600 4.1 Speaker System
    Microsoft Intelli Mouse Explorer V4.0
    Microsoft Wireless Multimedia Keyboard

    Conclusion

From the above information and testing,i must say that this SMPS delivers what it is supposed to.
Very few times have i come across such a stable product even under heavy load.
The actual voltage values when tested after putting full load were pretty impressive.
The Voltages remained very stable without much fluctuations and tried to remain around the theoritical values.
It should be noted that all the voltage values were above the rated ones and never did they drop below them, which is pretty good i must say.

    Now comes the main issue,Price.
What can i say,it is sweet as the product itself.

This product is Priced at a modest Rs. 1850/- [Inclusive of all]
Also this product comes with a 1 Year Warranty.

Finally i must say that we have a good product with a modest price available in India which is affordable to everyone. Overall a good product.

Sorry but i didnt get your question.

also why doesn't it support a connector for the monitor. and could u give the dimensions (in cm approx will do)
Monitor has a lot of Power consumption so it is never advisable to put a monitor on SMPS,its always better to keep that on UPS /Stabilizer.

Dimensions,i forgot to mention,ANyways here they are,

    85X150X140 mm [HxWxD]

this smps states that it has sata support, so i want to ask whats the differnce between a psu with a sata power socket and using an adaptor with a normal psu..
The new SATA HDDs come witha special power connector as shown in the pic.THe earlier lot of HDDs came with both the new one as well as the old one.
According to me the power requirement being different there is this special connector.
In the future may be it will standardise on this connector only.

    Hi all,

I have been using a Zebronics 500W (true power output = 420W) for more than 10 months now. I am very satisfied with this SMPS/PSU (Power Supply Unit) for the rig i am running...

    [b]AMD Athlon XP 2500+ (Barton) @ 10x222FSB (3200+)
    Asus A7N8X Dlx 2.0
    Kingston Hyper-X PC4000 256MB x 2
    MSI GeForce 4 Ti4600

    Hitachi Deskstar 180GXP IDE 80GB 7200rpm 2MB cache
    Seagate Barracuda Serial-ATA 120GB 7200rpm 8MB cache x 2
Creative Sound Blaster Live! DE 5.1
    Pinnacle PCTV Plus TV-Tuner
    Sony DVD-ROM 16X/40X
    Sony CD-RW 40X/12X/48X
    Krypton Internal Modem
    Samsung Multimedia Keyboard
    Microsoft Wheel Mouse Optical

The only drawback with this PSU is it is very noisy. To reduce the noise i have put a 33ohm resistor in series with the Fan, thus voiding the warranty on the PSU.. This has reduced the noise, but the PSU gets very very hot. there is a small heat sink on the PSU and i cant touch it for more than a milli second. Now, even i am thinking of getting this KPL PSU, that Darklord has reviewed, as it has Dual Fan and is very quiet at 28dB!

Here's the specs of my PSU!
