Seagate Backup Plus 1TB USB 3.0 Review

SeaGate is a market leader in providing reliable storage solutions. Backup Plus offers some unique data backup features with high speed storage interface. Removable storage solutions are common mode of data backup now days. But what matters the most is reliability of hard drive that features good backup utilities. After GoFlex, Backup Plus is specifically designed to give you easy storage solution with good data transfer speed. Unlike GoFlex, Backup Plus also features a removable USM Adapter. Adding a USB 3.0 interface makes the hard drive to load fast but you can gain more by buying additional adapters. Along with this on the software side Seagate has worked more to add some more unique options for Social Networking platforms. With the same tools you can simply keep your photos or videos that you share on Social Networking platform like Facebook/Flickr on your hard drive. I am not really sure whether this feature is quiet helpful or not. The drive offers 1TB storage with slim design and there is also no noise at the time of usage. The vibration is very minimum.

Seagate Backup Plus has very simple Dash Board software. With three steps you can create your own backup plan or simply save the content you upload on web. Right now the DashBoard only supports Facebook/Flicker. You have to sync your account with the tool and it will download all your photos and videos in the drive. SeaGate Backup Plus is one of the faster external storage solutions available.

    • Plug and Play Backup Solution
    • Data Protection
    • Sync, Share and Save Social Networking Files
    • USB 3.0 Data Transfer Speed

    • Interface : USB 3.0
    • Storage : 1TB

The drive looks very simple in design. It comes in 4 colors. They are Black, Red, Silver and Blue. The removable USB 3.0 USB Adapter offers flexibility to use the drive on different devices. You can buy a Thunderbolt or Firewire USB Adapter from Seagate website and create a high speed data transfer solution. It is not very large in size, nor very small. It has just the right size of a thin portable media. From the body it may not look like having movable parts, but it has spinning platter inside. You can feel the vibration as you pick it up while connected. That makes it less durable. It is not shock proof nor in the specification has Seagate mentioned about durability. Due to moving parts inside you have to take care while carrying it. The body of Backup Plus looks made up of like a mixture of plastic material. It is a single enclosure which does not has any openings on the cover. It is quiet slim compared to other 1TB portable drives available in the market.

Re: Seagate Backup Plus 1TB USB 3.0 Review

It comes in 3 different storage sizes. They are 1TB, 750GB and 500GB. Looks wise Seagate Backup Plus offers professional design. A single led indicator is provided near the connector. It is the only indicator that blinks when the drive is in usage or active. The package content comes with only required stuff. Like manual, usb cable and hard drive.

The cost of Backup Plus 1TB is Rs. 6000. That is quiet enough for 1TB storage with USB 3.0 interface. Seagate has offered some really simple storage media that makes backup job easier. With removable USM adapter you can get optional output. The interface is fast to move huge files from one place to another. Backup Plus 1TB offers you a nice alternative to copy your important data. Due to small size you can place it in your pocket or carry in a bag. There is something missing in the backup software provided. It is quiet basic.

    • Plug and Play Backup
    • Data Protection
    • Easy Sync
    • Fast Data Transfer Speed
    • Portable Size and lightweight
    • No Noise & Low Vibration
