Antec 900 vs Antec 900 II

We analyze the chassis Antec Nine Hundred, which is presented in a format and a full tower design especially suited for demanding gaming. Without forgetting the good taste in design, the people of Antec has tried to leap excellent performance and a unique air flow, in this case is said at the time (several years has this model), which was one of the most versatile hardcore chassis were ever built as the brand itself. Remember that Antec now has a completely redesigned it in its Two Hundred Nine model which keeps the essence of this and the improvement in many subjects and also offers the largest in the range, the magnificent Twelve Hundred.

In the original packaging we will find a black box featuring the top front of the chassis 900, a sober and aggressive image at the same time showing what kind of user will run this chassis in the back of the box we see the characteristics of the same. After opening the housing we are perfectly packaged product, as the density protectors offer a considerable safety distance keeping all sides of the product and unless your extremely careless handling is safe from shocks that may damage the content as leaves the factory.

Once fully unpacked before us to this 900, at first glance we see your design with a pretty aggressive side window and rotating the box got to the point where it draws the most attention, its front and top line, we will find a small panel connectors, Multi purpose tray and the great top fan. The box in a matte black finish with a high quality plastic gives us difficult to distinguish the materiality of its components, which provides a uniform look decent high range. As already mentioned the design is sober enough for anything but minimalist as its top fan is really brutal.

As we can see on the front, a section is fully ventilated, with two 120mm fans that we put our taste, together or separately, may put readers in the central area if we have the equipment located in a high typical configuration or if the readers at the top. Besides the fans have some blue LEDs that give a feeling more aggressive and tend gamer clear. The rear of the chassis is much simpler than helping to preserve this area, relatively free of dust. We also appreciate that the position of the power supply has been moved to the bottom allowing you to have a rear air extractor larger, equipped with a 120mm fan. The rear panel also offers seven slots of which the former is not suitable for placing a DVI connector for a design problem that people Antec has solved for Two Hundred Nune version.

Returning to the connector panel, we find a HDD LED, reset button, power button, audio output, microphone input, input and 2 Firewire inputs USB. For tray slides will see how to supply us with non-slip mats also remove possible vibrations for the objects that we can leave.

As for the bays, say we have 3 singles which if we do not use metal screw tapas supplied with the chassis, we are also given a small plastic tray inside that together with a metal cover that maintains the characteristics of the front allows the placement of a 3 ½ device, ideal for those who retain a floppy or most current and useful, a card reader.

    Flash Demo Antec 900

The interior of the chassis is very simple, but gives some details of thanks, two reusable plastic clamps for better wiring and machining the top we see some earplugs to put the wiring with plastic clamps. The site dedicated to the source has 4 silicone caps, and allows the source up or down, the brackets that cover the slots are designed not to use so as to allow better ventilation and are secured by screws which prevents vibration or games that can be annoying, which we saw in other chassis. In the area of bays see 4 Screws Screw that allow us to draw two receptacles for removable hard drives, can mount up to three units in each and use the front vent as each 120 mm fan is anchored to these trays, we also one of these trays within a framework that allows us to mount another 120mm fan inside. although with current GPU's settings as 5870 that framework should be removed if the tray is in line with the position of the GPU and can not be.

Lso in the section of fans, all fans supplied are adjustable and as we see in one of the images have an internal switch that allows us to regulate their revolutions between low, mid, high, may well get a better balance between performance and sound. These regulators are an uncomfortable problem if we regulate them periodically, as we enter into the computer what this means, in this version of Nine Hundred Two small giver was fixed against the frame with a small outside panel for this function.

In assessing the performance of a chassis fundamental factor is to define the temperature variation of a "X" by comparing the results in an open test bench at room temperature, with the results obtained in the same conditions and settings after that is mounted within it. To that end I present a table of results with the relevant temperatures obtained in the open system, as well as in the three optional settings as in the Antec 900.

CPU temperatures taken with Core Temp
    Temperatures taken with iTune Chipset
Rigid temperatures taken with external probe
    Temperature 28.5 º

Few market chassis improves all temperatures evaluated with respect to an open system.

    Noise levels.

With the fans set at low rpm the noise level even in work environments can be nice, however, with a half rpm level and noise level is noticeable but not annoying, but at high rpm and the noise level is not acceptable, because only those who seek maximum performance can justify the noise level.

Area of the ultimate gamer case. With its edges and corners of the housing has an aggressive and rebellious, but also shows a simple and noble character. So it is not surprising that the Nine Hundred Ultimate Gamer Case next to the lens also has a lot under the hood. The front is dominated by nine 5:25 mesh panels that allow a view from the front already in the cabinet. In addition to the visual effect also have the positive aspect is that the underlying two 120mm blue LED fan enough fresh air into the case may suck. Even on the installation of an external 3.5 drive was designed with the included 5.3-mesh screen and the included mounting frame.

In addition to the intrinsic values Nine Hundred Ultimate Gamer knows this case to please even with external gimmicks. The lid mounted in the I / O panel provides an easy and fast access to the 2x USB 2.0, 1x IEEE 1394 and Audio In and Out ports. As if that were not already enough, the cover still offers a comfortable non-slip tray, where you can store for example your digital camera, USB sticks or other small items, and so are always within easy reach.

The 120mm fans located behind the hard drive cages, each for up to 3 hard drives are cooled optimally and can be removed if necessary. To have the free choice whether to block six hard drives and three drives, or rather need more space for other components of 5:25, such as fan controller, card reader or something else. Also here is the power supply not as usual in the top of the case, but in the rear floor area.

In addition to the already installed fan, you can optionally install two more 120mm fans in the side windows and on a hard drive cages. The cooling of the Nine Hundred Ultimate Gamer Case is exemplary. Only three 120mm and 200mm fans are a huge pre - heat build Comes Spring! Each of these fans, you can adjust in three levels: low - medium - high. What more could you want?

Re: Antec 900 vs Antec 900 II

    Antec 900 II -

Nine Hundred Two of Antec will follow in the footsteps of its predecessor occur. The Midi-Tower is designed for the gaming audience and relies on a simple structure, strong flexibility and cooling. The black steel case Antec has several adjustable and blue illuminated fan installed.

The Antec Nine Hundred Two is held entirely in black, outside and even inside. At the top, which is made from continuous plastic, Antec has included a 200-mm system fan. This is lit from within by a number of LED. Who does not like this light show, they can disable by a switch on the back. Despite the low level, the Midi-Tower by sliding HDD cage can provide flexible. The model has nine bays, which can be equipped with optical drives and hard drives. Each 3 hard drives come together in a HDD-cage. Before the disk sits a 120mm large fan that can be adjusted continuously from the outside in speed.

    Technical data :

    Ventilation system :

The ventilation system of the Nine Hundred Two includes a series of system fans. Behind the front sitting depending on the configuration of up to two 120-mm fan. This will not only cool the hard drives, but also fresh air into the case. For the vent are located in each housing a 120 and a 200 mm large fan.

Another fan can be installed in the side cover of the Nine Hundred Two. All the preinstalled fans are adjustable: the two front by a wheel, the rear of each one three-position switch. The lighting can be disabled only in the upper 200-mm fan.

The strengths of the Nine Hundred Two are located in two areas: First, it is the ventilation system and, secondly, the flexible HDD cages. Both are tuned so that gets inside the built-in hardware the best possible airflow. The hard drive cages, each of which can accommodate up to three 3.5-inch disks have not only a 120 mm wide and adjustable fan but also a removable dust filter. The lighting of the system fan can not be switched off.

    Conclusion :

Whether the Antec Nine Hundred Two in the footsteps of its predecessor takes place remains to be seen by the market when compared to the Antec Nine Hundred. The processing of the Midi-Towers is exemplary, only the many plastic interferes with a closer look in Antec Nine Hundred Two. Due to the variable HDD cages, of which the Nine Hundred Two has two, can be incorporated not only many drives, but also long expansion cards when you compare with the Antec Nine Hundred. For long video cards or SLI-/Crossfire-Verbund the HDD cages can be simply put in the highest only in Antec Nine Hundred Two and not in Antec Nine Hundred. This can be considered as drawback for Antec Nine Hundred. In Antec Nine Hundred Two the cooling concept makes this Midi-Tower good job, but at the expense of volume. Are all the fans have turned up to 100%, it is the feeling of standing in the wind tunnel of a car maker. So it would be better to use the Antec Nine Hundred Two instead of Antec Nine Hundred, the previous version.

Re: Antec 900 vs Antec 900 II

The Twelve Hundred looks the same! the only difference is just the size. The Twelve Hundred has a front and rear fan, and consequently three more bays, more and more interior room. By design, the Twelve Hundred is absolutely the same. The Nine Hundred is therefore the only version of Midi Tower Twelve Hundred. The Antec 900 v1 looks better and is conceptually identical. This here just looks like a bad imitation. They would have to make the appearance of something more serious predecessors and it would have been good. So I think the case is by design not just a great throw. I personally have the Antec Three Hundred. Except for the HDD cage and the 200mm fan (which has a three hundred 140mm) which is almost identical. The price, however, about half the price. I cool my overclocked Phenom X4 9950 BE with 9800GTX under full load to a maximum of 50 degrees.

Very good product, beautiful with all the blue fan inside to do but take the trouble to properly store and hide all the cables. The fan is not kings of silence but with a Rheobus to control their speed is nikel. The front USB ports are great, no need to bend down to put its key. Storage is very well thought of. Anyway I am totally satisfied with this product that I've had two months without any apparent problems. With minimum fan speed and the standard on-board fans.
    • The tower is a bit noisy, but nothing more.
    • Very well done, the box boasts of beautiful materials and seems really sturdy.
    • A little heavy, but I do not moves so it is not a problem.
    • The blue colors are nice, but when you watch a movie, it's a bit embarrassing.
    • The small store at the top is very convenient access to the button and start the plugs too.
    • Materiel.net undertook to mount the beast and I do not regret it, great! Everything is tidy, well thought out, really: hat.

Nothing to say about this tower is nearly perfect. The finish is very beautiful, the blue LED gives it a more truly beautiful. Only small defect fans that make noise when they are at max but no need to go back to even at least this is enough. For delivery ... I had no chance because there was insufficient inventory for a product and I changed it but once it produces change I received the following day.

Excellent product, perfect quality, lots of room (put a hd 5870 27cm in length and fit are approximately 5-6cm) The fan is powerful and does not make too much noise except when the flow rate increases. Only thing missing fan 120mm-rated by the transparent plate of the tower. Very good value for money I highly recommend. For those who want a micro climate in their PC ... THIS IS THE PACKAGE THAT YOU NEED! The ball! 900 it must be the wind speed inside! For the noise I agree with the previous opinion: we know lol And worse, it smells of top quality materials ... Well, it's a gamer box, so Check two cents bizarre kind not within HP, I seek the HDD LED, the audio jack / mic are missed ... but we are asking the beast is to return the 2 4890 and is the work is done! if you want you can even spend 3 ... is that ... there's room for delivery, delivery record .. how things change this summer when the DRC was total picks ... short of that happiness and good frag + +

Re: Antec 900 vs Antec 900 II

I opted for this medium-rise housing is simply beautiful and effective for reducing the warmth of my lap. Some find it noisy ... but it is whisper quiet unless you put the fans back ... people may even need it in overclocking but may be in the summer. Pros: - A beautiful black case - rather aesthetic and solid matter. - The Fan effective - low supply of housing - Facilities for the cable on the side - 4 remove screws to access to a compartment of the DD - Place for big graphics cards - Speed FAN provided - Good value for money Cons: - The weight is not displaced, but every day your PC - Cables of Fragile fans - fans noisy background - Unable to put a fan on the side if we have a big CPU fan.
