    Operation and working

Despite the presence for real physical keyboard and comfortable to operation with the gauge of G1 almost equivalent to that of a HTC Touch Pro considered excessively by many users.

For a public terminal and Multimedia, HTC, Google and T-Mobile omit several important elements. First there is no standard headphone jack (3.5 mm jack) so preventing to connect other stereo headphones than those supplied. However a miniUSB adapter / Jack could be provided with models . Moreover it has limited Bluetooth functionality that will not connect wireless stereo headphones. Gaps amazing especially as the T-Mobile G1 offers direct access to Amazon music kiosk with 6 million tracks in MP3 format without DRM.

Video side the camera sensor can not record video and the T-Mobile G1 can read even more videos from those of YouTube with direct access. While the absence of video will be quickly compensated by third party applications for download on Android Market. On the extension memory, T-Mobile G1 will not support microSD cards of over 8GB not good.

    The minor defects

G1 a nice touch to propose an interface optimized for the finger, it is not multi-touch .Another fact is T-Mobile G1 not be able to act as a wireless modem or to support the professional messaging system Microsoft Exchange that what for a smart phone general public assumed . For messaging the G1 offers Gmail support for POP3 mail accounts and IMAP.

Also note that these gaps are not definitive since the Android platform could later manage these two functions to other terminals for more mixed use (personal / professional).

    Features Function
The T-Mobile G1 offers basic features for a phone that the iPhone does not have: eg support MMS or voice dialing. but latest 3g iphone does.

The integration of Google web services and the synchronization between the client and the terminal (for mail, contacts, calendar) is clearly the strength of T-Mobile G1 as all future terminals by Google Android.

The Google Maps function was particularly worked and goes well beyond the version of Google Maps on the iPhone. In addition to maps satellite views and traffic information Google provides the Street View service which offers panoramic views of certain locations. The T-Mobile G1 embedding digital compass it can actually be guiding and moving in an unknown location.

The Android smartphone comes with a copy / paste, which is absence on the iPhone but can get in 3g iphone .A long press on a field containing data or text or a portion of text and a text menu appears, allowing you to cut or copy. Same in the destination field a long press on the area to paste. These manipulations work in all applications where text fields appear (contact book, web browser, etc.).. This function is not perfect it is difficult to select only part of a text.

The shop software Android Market appears in principle, more open than the App Store from Apple no censorship on the part of Google or T-Mobile on the applications that are available. For developers, the process of referral of the application on Android Market has been simplified to the maximum according to Google.
