Animal Crossing: Wild World (Nintendo DS)

Claimed horns and shouts from all the owners of GameCube, Animal Crossing strange eventually be distributed on our territory, after the Japanese version, making thousands happy. This time with Animal Crossing: Wild World on DS is coming, which is a constantly changing world that you feel fit in the palm of your hand.

It is very difficult to provide a clear especially, the concept of Animal Crossing. Kind of simulator of social life, this title is definitely not a game like the others. Imagine that you are somewhat jaded by your existence, and that you want to take a break by embodying in a virtual world completely fanciful. The trip goes without a history, and you finally find the back of a taxi without knowing what you came to a village in which you know nothing. A few minutes of arrival, the driver decides to play prying into bombarding you embarrassing questions, then it takes you to your new home. Once you realize that this world may have been naive and colorful, it is nonetheless based on that you have temporarily left. The evidence is that the trader's corner will not release you until you have repaid the debt you owe for the purchase of your home, which will require you to work for him the time to this task. This is, finally you have the opportunity to experience the exhilaration of freedom and explore your new world at your own pace.

No obvious relationships when you just arrive in a village where everyone knows everyone. As in reality, not everyone necessarily wants to jump on the neck when you try to initiate conversation, and some will even show a little cold at the end of the first contact. Nevertheless, your repeated attacks eventually convince them that you are being friendly and well intentioned, and the time helping you get to forge strong friendships. However, nothing forces you to play the great Samaritan, but it will then wipe the mood of your neighbours and do not crack at the unexpected reaction of a former friend who starts to melt in tears because you have not bothered you for your interest in him for several months. It's silly to say, but we end up focusing itself despite these virtual characters going about their daily business as if nothing had happened. The village in which you live is constantly evolving with the seasons parade at the same pace as in reality, following the internal clock of the console, unlike most games where time is accelerated. Animal Crossing is a title that appreciates over time, as regularly, new entrants will move next door to you, which in non-stop the social dimension of soft.

On a more concrete, it is true that this Animal Crossing still has many similarities with its GameCube counterpart. Still, the new functions to the DS still add some interest. Already, the mere fact of being able to bring his village anywhere is more considerable for a title that is played in small doses when it was half an hour to kill. Second, the Stylus adds a comfort game that one wonders how it was able to pass on the GameCube version. The accessory is not only used to write letters, it is almost for everything, including travel. In this regard, we note that the environments are no longer cut in the form of screens, as was the case previously. This time, exploration is a much more fluid since the village is built in one block, represented also by a world which goes around the same way as the Little Prince on Asteroid B-612 . The only oddity, the earth is round in appearance because the edges we do not reach the poles, passing from one to another. All that really gives a stamp attached to this micro-universe which does belong to you.

One of the attractions of the Animal Crossing also lies in the ability to invite friends in his small virtual world, hence the need to take care of its habitat. Remember that your home will be quickly infested with rats and cockroaches if you fail completely. Free to you to decorate to your liking with items you could buy or receive as gifts, history not to be the laughing stock of the Academy of designers who might find your home unhealthy. All of the Wi-Fi, you have an opportunity to temporarily leave your city to get to those of your friends, and vice versa. The only constraint is that this is possible only with players who you have communicated their personal code. You can invite up to four friends simultaneously for an unforgettable encounter between human players. Apart from the friendly side of the thing, it will give you the opportunity to trade items with them to visit other villages, or even encourage certain NPC to move to come to your city. This is a game to which everyone will not necessarily but that brings a lot of freshness. And even if the app has no real interest to those who already own the GameCube version, it is recognized that the portable format is ideal for some short but repeated.

3D graphics is neat and the overall design is adorable, but it lacks a bit of diversity in light of the small size of the universe. The dual screen would have asked to be better exploited. This is typically the kind of game that is much more pleasant to play with the stylus as the cross direction. The interface is almost perfect.

It depends whether you hang or not the basic concept. If you are fairly sociable and you do not like being held by the hand, you may quickly become addicted. In all cases, Animal Crossing is a title which plays long, but very small doses regularly. The sound is in perfect agreement with the visual style of the game, very nice and particularly endearing. We especially appreciate the sounds that characterize the voices of the characters.
