Finishing top of the range is heavily brushed metal and the screen is full of a glass which occupies the entire surface without edge. Direct consequence of these choices, the content weight is less than 2 kg. Acer Aspire 3935 comes in a dark brown color and appears as an attractive business machine that is worth showing up. Design & Construction

The computer cabinet is an opaque dark brown color and black and is constructed of plastic and aluminum. The computer is approx 2.5 centimeters high when the screen is shutdown and 2 centimeters when it is open. The computer is overall very dark and reflect little. The edges are nicely rounded and the computer ends well when the lid is closed. Around the keyboard is a small pattern on the surface so that your hands are relatively slip resistant . Opposite this area and the keyboard the computer is very receptive to greasy fingers easily seen in the lid and screen when you for example just open the computer.Overall appears your computer like a real nice business machine since the matte colors and the special dark brown color gives a professional look along with the prominent keyboard .

The lid is of the matte dark brown color, the Acer logo is printed in the center and in one corner it says sign up which probably refers to the wireless network devices. The lid is unfortunately very susceptible to greasy fingers and it can easily be seen if after you have opened your computer

At front computer ends nicely and there are no sharp edges. To the left there are diodes and card reader as in to be executed later.we see a small cap which the wireless network is located. The large door saves on your hard disk and RAM modules and the top we see the battery.

    Re: Acer Aspire 3935

    Hinge:
Hinges are made up of just black plastic. The screen sits well but now have an idea that one should be missed by tipping screen backward as it immediately seems easy to break because of its weight relative to the computer itself.

    Buttons / Diodes

Diodes are located on the left of the front and not duplicated when the screen is closed over. The first diodes indicate hard disk activity, the other shows on the computer is on or off and the last talks about the battery status. The first two diodes light blue and the third orange. Beside can see the card reader.

Above panel there is four buttons where the first button is used for controlling noise. The other 3 buttons are used to activate WiFi, Bluetooth and activation of the last used as a shortcut to the Acer Backup Manager is a program for backing up files, etc..

    Keyboard and Touchpad

The keyboard is highlighted by the fact that there are several millimeter space between the keys, giving a really fat and simple look. The keyboard has not a good size. Looking carefully you can see that there is almost a kind of mica in the keyboard which can be viewed with illumination. At first sight it resembles a rough surface, but the surface is very smooth.

Touchpad respond very well, but may well irritate the mouse buttons in length because you have to press out the side of pressing the button down, which is very inconvenient. There is a small button to disable touchpad up at right corner and generally serve the true good.

    Noise & Heat

The computer is not noisy when it is just idle, but sometimes the fan can take a few laps, which can be noted. When the computer comes under a little load, noisy computer really not much more than it does in idle. The heat does not specifically labeled on the keyboard, but there is less than the computer is still a bit warm but not by violent nature.

    Screen

The screen is a 13.3 inch TFT display with LED illuminated CineCrystal technology. The screen ratio is 16:9, and has a maximum resolution of 1366 x 768px, WXGA. There are 10 levels of intensity modulated .The screen works much as a mirror of today's Information which is very inconvenient and reflect this light about everything affecting it. The light is very good and sharp with a slightly darker surroundings and provides a clear beautiful picture. The light is evenly distributed on the entire screen.16 : 9 is especially interesting if you watch movies with your laptop to no longer be bothered by the black bands . It is also practical to view two documents side by side. In return, we lose a little height. The screen of the Aspire 3935 is set by default. The colors are faithful and good brightness measured even if it remains high. Finally, like all the shiny screens, it does not avoid the glare. Think about it when it out in direct sunlight.

    Speakers

Although the sound is Dolby Home Theater technology, then the sound is unfortunately one of pulling down because the sound is neither particularly high or good. When volume is at max will sound very mechanical and blades this sounds, which is very annoying to listen to. Besides, playing the low frequencies do not particularly good. Overall, the sound sounds very unnatural and not good

    Special Features

    Fingerprint Reader

With fingerprint reader is included Acer Bio Protection, which works really well to log on to Windows, and identify different places, but in addition it also allows the software to make different gestures for different images. That computer can perform a task turning off the computer which is very smart. The software is very user friendly and can be very effective and practical in the long term. The fingerprint reader is located between the two mouse buttons.

    Webcam

To the webcam optional Acer Crystal Eye Webcam software that makes it easy to take pictures. The camera is 1.3 megapixels and can capture images at a maximum resolution of 640 x 480 The quality is not very good still images but it is fine for video for example. over MSN Messenger, etc.

    Performance

Boot time and out of the standby time is measured in seconds from pressing the power button and the Windows desktop comes up.Aspire 3935 starts at around 45 seconds when Toshiba Tecra is after 47 seconds. An excellent result since everything about the 45 seconds is acceptable.

    Battery

    Idle test settings:
Fast clock frequency of 2130 Mhz, brightness at 10/10, hard drive standby after 10 minutes, and wi-fi and Bluetooth enabled.

    Classic test settings:
Varying clock frequencies between 2130 MHz and 1600 MHz, the brightness at 10/10, hard drive standby after 10 minutes, and wi-fi and Bluetooth enabled.

It can hold power for 1 hour and 26 minutes at full load, which is not much. But at idle it may stay up to 5 hours and 32 minutes which is quite a difference.

    Re: Acer Aspire 3935

    Conclusion
Acer Aspire 3935 is a good computer especially suitable for business and academic people. The computer offers a slightly different design in the form of a beautiful matte dark brown color with a nice prominent keyboard which gives a touch of class and style. Together with giblets and user friendly software your computer is easy to use but there are also things like pulling in the opposite end.The highly reflective screen that makes it difficult to work outdoors. The computer is also very sensitive to greasy fingers and especially on the screen and lid, which does not look good. The sound is not particularly good, since it seems very mechanical and unnatural at higher volumes,. But beyond these negative aspects, the computer works best and will probably raise a lot of attention among the people in its modern look. Overall a good computer to excel in price,However you might look at alternatives if you have preferences in performance versus price.

    Positive:
    • Beautiful design
    • Good keyboard
    • Good and easy to use software from Acer
    • battery life

    Negative:

    • The screen reflection
    • Touchpad
    • Poor audio

    Re: Acer Aspire 3935 Laptop

    Hello, Trog.
    I am also a 3935 owner.
I am happy with the laptop, but there is a small issue I am trying to resolve.
I hope you can help me.

The battery discharges about 6% per 24 hours when the laptop is totally shut off (no sleep, no hibernation).
I suspected there was a component that consumes electricity while the laptop is off.
Therefore I disabled network boot function in the bios. I also unchecked every entry in the Device Manager that has an option for "Allow this device to wake the computer check box" and enabled all "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power".
However I am still experiencing the battery leakage.

I have personally experienced this before (Sony CS series - 12% per 24 hours and Toshiba AH2 series - 15% per 24 hours), but my old Fujitsu dischared about 0.2% per 24 hours.
Therefore I understand that some laptops suffer this and some don't (The most infamous one is Sony Z series).

Do you suffer the battery drain issue?
