After the HTC Dream launched by Orange, it's SFR to suggest a smartphone that runs on Android: HTC Magic. A small reminder of the facts necessary for those who have not followed the genesis of the new operating system. As mentioned in the introduction of this review , the most important element of this HTC Magic is not in its data sheet. At least not in the hardware. No, the real novelty of this great product is to look on the side of the operating system. With the HTC Dream at Orange, the Magic is the first to offer the Google Android OS France. And the competition has to stand. If Nokia, Apple and other Microsoft thought it would take a long time to see Android get to the level of maturity of their own OS, they will be for their expenses. This is all the more valuable it is valid in all applications that require typing as SMS, email client or web browser for example. This keyboard is not a real physical keyboard but it comes out with the honors, to type fairly quickly and accurately.

HTC Magic is the first mobile which is almost as good as the iPhone for features connected. One of the main attractions of Apple's smartphone is its superb Safari Web browser. Google responded by equipping its Android Chrome Lite, a light version of Chrome. And it is an excellent initiative as the program works wonders on the HTC Magic. Google is the undisputed boss of the internet and it shows here that may well bring the net in your pocket, with little alteration.

However, the flash technology is still very poorly supported by the browser. In it, Chrome Lite does not much compared to existing mobile browsers. Overall, the HTC Magic is a great improvement on its predecessor, and not just cosmetically. While we thought it would take several smartphones and several updates to the Android operating system for Google and its partners can offer a product capable of competing with smartphones competition. The HTC Magic proves brilliantly despite shortcomings since it is already fully functional. Better yet, there is already a model of ergonomics and simplicity. No product seemed innovative in the iPhone.

Google has not tried to copy Apple, and instead traced its own path, that path seems very promising.
