Anno Create a New World features an exclusive Co-op mode that brings families together and builds up real team spirit when playing Anno cooperatively.

A second player can assist in many different ways. Generally with the second Wii Remote you can simply mark spots of interest for the first player or launch fireworks. To help your inhabitants, remove fire, plague or rats from their houses. Support your economy by increasing the productivity of single production sites or speeding up market wagons.

    Characters

    • William Riley is the older son of King George and the heir to his throne. He is friendly and helpful by nature and he has a knack for the expansion and improvement of settlements
    • Edward, the younger of the two sons of King George, is a very impulsive person. His desire to challenge himself and others often ends up causing trouble if he is in over his head.
    • King George is a wise old man, a true King. As the protector of his people he is deeply affected by the plague and suffering in his nation. In an attempt to help his people he sends out his two sons to support his kingdom. He is known to be a very cautious ruler but the current situation has made him desperate and eager for relief.
    • The Sultan is the beloved leader of his people. He is very friendly and cosmopolitan. The Sultan is the devoted father of his land.
    • Nasira is the daughter of the sultan, famous for her beauty. Growing up in the oriental palaces of her father she has learned many things and has become an open minded young woman. However her education in the arts and sciences has also given her a deep seated curiosity.
    • While her brother was born into the role of Sultan, his older sister Farasha was forced into standing behind the throne instead. As a proud and strong-willed woman she was never satisfied with such a position and has often looked disapprovingly on the actions and decisions of her brother.
    • Evelyn was born on board of a ship and spends most of her life on deck. As the daughter of a famous explorer she knows more about navigation and exploration than most people. She is very adventurous and lives to see and experience new things but she can also be quite impatient at times.
    • Cornelius B. Devenport is a long standing advisor to King George. He has intimate knowledge of all bureaucratic and financial matters and joins William on his quest. He can be a bit dry and humorless but his wisdom and experience are invaluable when building settlements.

For a little over ten years, the series Always invites us to colonize new lands and, despite its broader public, this new Version is no exception to this rule, even if the whole it is a bit more scripted than usual. While the land of King George are affected by the terrible drought and famine struck population, Prince William had the idea on how to colonize the islands of southern wild kingdom ... One idea that we of course are responsible for enforcing the campaign through a cut in seven chapters that are followed without displeasure.

In reality, this is only a very long tutorial that allows us to discover, one by one, the various functions before we launch into the mode Endless copying the parts free PC versions. Absolutely perfect for beginners in the management, the progress of the campaign, forcing tutorial, although slow to regulars of the series. The latter will have plenty of time to see how the general direction of the game is finally different from the PC versions.

In Anno: Create Your World, it focuses much less on matters of detail, but the game has not budged one iota. Starting with a ship which holds full of various materials, it is always to build a colony. The first buildings should allow the colony to survive, once the holds of the vessel emptied. Then, the game comes into its own management, because the player must meet the needs of a growing population and increasingly demanding as it progresses socially.

The increase "social" can make people go through five stages of pioneers aristocrats. At each new stage, additional requirements are met while new structures, resources and technologies become available. The game becomes richer and more complex simulation while residents pay more taxes for each stage of their "social development". As on previous versions, the new requirements may require the exploitation of resources away from our island town. Taking islands becomes essential, but sometimes by the encounter with other people. This may be another colonizer, but also to pirates and he must choose between two options: trade or war. Trade is greatly simplified over the PC version, but still worth while war is a relative disappointment. In wanting to make it more accessible, developers have made more binding especially the fights are actually quite long because of the few units available.

The player must increase the attacks to achieve its purposes, but fortunately it can count on a very successful on Wii as on DS. On the console room, the couple Wiimote / Nunchuk allows for immediate ownership and not a problem of accuracy. The same side of the stylus of the small portable, even if we have a slight preference for the Wiimote. In both cases the other, we still regret the graphic style chosen: to make the game more accessible, requiring it to adopt a style cartoon also delivered?

What we call "failure" is, however, the personal and it is obviously not possible to base its ruling on this, but we continue to prefer the graphic style used on Anno 1701 DS. More disturbing, however, compared with previous opus: the disappearance of any multiplayer option. On Wii, a pseudo cooperative has been incorporated, but it is completely useless and frankly regrets Ubisoft did not further widened the lead at this level ... For a next time maybe?

    Conclusion
After a quality Anno 1701, we were concerned a little bit eager to Ubisoft to make a sequel, but we were wrong. Of course, it is not clear that the owners of the previous opus DS are very interested in this new episode that finally does not much, but for newcomers or for Wii owners, it is of a true success. Console Lounge Nintendo has finally signed a real set of management and even if the possibilities are far inferior to what we know on PC, welcome the work of developers who have managed to make it accessible without Anno (too) distorting. A title which enables to get a smooth gaming management.
