    Asus P6T6 WS Revolution Motherboard

ASUS P6T6 WAS Revolution gives incredible power to a dedicated workstation to a light company, a TPE, an independent, public or a user. Revolutionary and innovative, the P6T6 WAS Revolution of ASUS has three PCIe x16 ports, thus technology 2-Way and 3-Way NVIDIA SLI and ATI CrossFireX graphics performance breathtaking. In addition, this motherboard is also equipped a total of six ports PCIe x16 integrated second generation: the user provides connector I / O extremely fast and a flexible range of graphics options and treatment.

6 Ports PCIe 16x three technologies for 3-Way SLI and Cross FireX!

The motherboard P6T6 WAS Revolution is with the Integrated 3-Way SLI / CrossFireX on demand, allowing it to display exceptional graphics performance. Thanks to this technological breakthrough, the user receives 2-Way/3-Way SLI or CrossFireX support on the same motherboard, and therefore can install up to three graphics cards 3-Way SLI, or the opportunity to engage in the installation of a CrossFireX.

Whatever option is chosen, the rest sensational graphics for increased performance. The P6T6 WAS Revolution is also compatible with the technology 3-Way SLI PCIe x16 Gen2, providing the user with graphics performance to reliability and speed limits for all design activity carried out in the fields of mechanics, of architecture, interior design, aerospace, audio and video, or for playing video games in his spare time.

With six ports PCIe x16 Gen2, the P6T6 WAS Revolution offers connections I / O at high speed. With six ports PCIe x16 Gen2, the P6T6 WAS Revolution offers connections I / O at high speed. Each port can support up to 8GB / s bandwidth, twice the amount borne by the PCIe 1.1 is ideal for connecting high-speed Infiniband, and to use card processing, high performance or yet professional graphics cards.

It is designed primarily to work stations as all cards "WAS" but it should no doubt the most demanding of you. Based on the Intel X58 chipset, it delivers famous for Nvidia NF200 chip in addition to other functions of the cards range P6T. NF200 chip that allows the "real" 3-Way SLI using three ports PCIe 16X rigged. The P6T6 WAS Revolution benefits from high quality components as Japanese polymer capacitors and inductors ferrite filter, type of Mosfet Low RDS and a cooling system similar to that of other motherboards from ASUS range WAS.

The map includes the ASUS EPU-6 Energy, a system of control and restraint in real-time food processor according to system load. Thanks to an automatic components (including processor, VGA card, memory, chipset, the HDD and fans), this system provides adequate nutrition and smart saving energy and money ... It also incorporates the ASUS Express Gate that allows quick access to internet, use Skype or other instant messaging services, view photos / videos without having to load windows or even connect a hard drive.

    Layout of Asus P6T6

It was entitled to a motherboard PCB black with white or blue components, and contrary to the Rampage II Extreme which is aimed at gamers Asus has built a motherboard more professional look very sober. The card has 6 ports supporting Dimm DDR3 triple channel up to 1600MHz (oc) which are powered by 3 phases.

The rear panel of the P6t6 is very comprehensive, as there are a PS2 keyboard port, six USB 2.0 (two more are on the USB 2.0 module), two gigabyte Ethernet RJ45 ports and two SATA ports. There is also the analog audio outputs and digital inputs and outputs 7.1 audio handled by the codec 8-channel HD audio .ICH10R chips and NF200 are cooled by a radiator flat enough not to interfere with insertion of the various maps and graphics linked to the rest of system by a system of basic heatpipe.

It supports ATI CrossFireX technology in 16X-16X but also the Tri SLI Nvidia in 16X-16X-16X with six ports PCIe 2.0. However, note the absence of PCI. Food Processor (vCore, memory controller and QPI) 16 +2 phase VRM takes place on the ASUS motherboards and offers 16-phases for the vCore and 2-phases for the QPI memory controller inside the processor. This combination of technologies provides a greater power but generates less heat than competing technologies, which increases the potential for overclocking.

It may be noted that the card has no Floppy and IDE controllers, the latter is slowly starting to disappear. The P6T6 has no power button ON / OFF and reset directly placed on the pcb but they are still present on the GP Diagnosis card that came with the motherboard. This system supports you in the verification system by displaying errors on the LED screen. You can easily locate any errors immediately.

The Asus P6T6 WAS Revolution has six PCI-Express 2.0 and as you can see on the diagram of the layout, it leaves little room for a PCI slot of older generation. The card is also no slot for floppy and IDE connector. It has two riders protection, one for the vCore and one for the memory voltage / QPI used to limit materially in recent tensions even if they are applied via the bios. The map has also five fan connectors with a single four-pin for the CPU fan. And as almost all current maps, the position of all S-ATA connectors at an angle of 90 ° C may inhibit some users in close cases. There are no buttons Power ON / OFF or reset on the card itself but , they are moved on the GP Diagnosis card.

    Overclocking of Asus P6T6

ASUS uses a modified version of the American Megatrends AMIBIOS that is found on most of their motherboards. The menu is split into Main, Ai Tweaker, and Advanced, Power, Boot, Tools and Exit submenus. The Main menu is where the System Time, Date Language, Storage Configuration and System Information are displayed. Here is where you enable the RAID array as well.

The Advanced BIOS is split into CPU Configuration, Chipset, Onboard Devices Configuration, USB Configuration, PCIPnP Configuration menus. CPU Configuration is where you set the CPU Ratio Setting, enable or disable various CPU functions including C1E, Virtualization Tech, Execute Disable Bit, HT, Active Processor Cores, Speedstep, Turbo Mode and C-STATE. The Chipset menu is where you enable High Definition Audio, the Marvell controllers, and the Realtek LAN.

Ai Tweaker is where ASUS put all the overclocking and tweaking for the motherboard. The various settings are listed below along with the settings available.

    Conclusion

ASUS has done a superlative job with the P6T6 WS Revolution motherboard. This board scored among the highest of any X58 motherboards in terms of features and performance nearly across the board. ASUS bills this motherboard as the ultimate workstation board and that may truly be the case. To facilitate this, the board has six PCI Express x16 graphics slots, allowing for a six video card solution, SAS drives, WS LED, and WS Heartbeat.

If you're looking for a workstation class board on the X58 chipset this is the board for you as it has all the bells and whistles that you expect from ASUS and the extra features you want. SLI works as advertised with the proper spacing for three GTX280 dual-slot cards. Crossfire also works out of the box. The X58 chipset in combination with the nForce 200 motherboard chipset makes for a powerful combination of true Tri-SLI or CrossfireX.Good job on this one Asus, this board exceeds the standard gaming motherboards and should do well in high-end systems designed for productivity.
