I have a website that I am maintaining and developing as well and it uses the port 25 Windows Media Player Plugin for firefox. The best part of this steaming site is the ability to script the player and it has the capability to capture events in the stream using the WMP event API. But the problem is that the event API is not appearing to work. Is there anyone who was facing same problem and have solved it?
If you want to play Windows Media in Firefox, you need the Windows Media Player browser plugin installed. There are two different versions:
- The original, which is usually included with Windows up until XP.
- The new version, specifically developed for Windows XP and above, which is only available by download.

Have you tried to delete the pluginreg.dat file in firefox profile folder after closing Firefox browser. If you want to open the profile folder of Firefox then click on Help by pressing Alt+H >> Troubleshooting Information >> Show Folder. After that when you will re-launch Firefox then the file be created and updated automatically incase if there is a new version of the plugin installed on your system.
