wmplayer.exe running after Vista boot up
This is just 3 months old Vista desktop and already started slowing down while bootup. Am facing this problem since a week, so today I checked the Task Manager and found that wmplayer.exe and wmpnscfg.exe are running with the startup and eating pretty good resources. So could this be the problem?
Re: wmplayer.exe running after Vista boot up
These processes starts with Windows only if you have anything connected with your device. Any external device.
Is there something connected with your desktop?
Re: wmplayer.exe running after Vista boot up
Wow, thanks for that useful info mate. I think that was the problem. Yes, I use to have connected two devices, one is pendrive that I use as extra memory and one WD external Hard drive for backup. But as you said I removed them and now my boot up time has improved to some extent.
But the only problem left is still wmplayer.exe can be seen running with windows. Is that safe?
Re: wmplayer.exe running after Vista boot up
Just keep Task Manager opened and launch Windows Media Player and see if any changes occur in that wmplayer.exe. I mean, if you get two such process running. Also how much memory is it eating when WMP is not running.
