Cannot delete or rename folder
Hi, we are having strange problem with a Windows 2003 cluster I am hoping
someone may have seen before.
Node A, if I try to create a new folder at any level, even at the root, it
says "Access Denied Make Sure the disk is not full or write protected".
Then it creates a folder called "New Folder" that cannot be deleted or
modified. Everyone and System have Full Control at the root. I am a domain
admin and there is 300gb of free space.
I can however create files, modify files, delete files without issue. So it
only affects folders.
If I fail the resources to the other Node B, no problems.
This does not affect the c: drive of Node A or the Q: (quorum) drive of the
cluster. I can create folders and delete them.
Thanks in advance for any help!
Re: Cannot delete or rename folder
Are you running EMCs DiskXtender software?

Re: Cannot delete or rename folder
As a matter of fact we had tried to implement it at one point. This morning
I noticed that service was Disabled on the "working node" but so I checked
the "non-working node" and it was running. So I disabled it but no change,
so I did not investigate further. I guess I should have.
We do not use the EMC software anymore because it didn't work.
Based on your response and the fact at one point we were running it, that is
probably the culprit. Do you have further instructions/thoughts?
Thanks!

Re: Cannot delete or rename folder
Try uninstalling then reboot as opposed to just disabling. If it's got any
filter drivers, those may still load despite the service being disabled.
