Can't download anything from internet with Vista, please help
I installed a fresh Windows Vista on a desktop at my home and subscribed for Comcast internet service. Connection went fine, browsing works good. But when I go to download anything from internet, it just wont download. Appears like I don’t have internet connection but at the same time I can browse any website.
I thought there would be Firewall problem hence I turned off that also but still getting the same problem. Do anyone of you have any idea what could be the problem? Any suggestion?

You haven’t given enough details to understand your problem. I mean, what are you tryingto download, which program you are using for download?
As this is Vista Mail forum, do I guess you are trying to download an Email using Windows Mail? If yes, than there is a solution for the same at Comcast. Just check this
And if it is about something else, then better check this Microsoft URL http://support.microsoft.com/kb/555375
Re: Can't download anything from internet with Vista, please help
Are you facing the download problem while downloading anything or any one particular file from particular website? If it is happening with particular programs then the file would be suspicious and your antivirus is blocking the same for computer’s security. Hence you should take care of it.
And if it is happening with all programs than there could be some problem in Internet Browser itself. Probably any add-on is creating the issue. You should try running the browser with out add-ons and see if you are able to download. To run IE without add-ons, go to Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools and click Internet Explorer (No Add-ons).
Or else try using some another rbrowser, like Mozilla Firefox.
