We have few PCs at office connected to each other via Wired network. We do file sharing among all PCs. Now I have an external USB Hard Drive containing various important file and movies which I want to share on my network. I tried doing it the normal way we do for our files kept on local hard drives but unsuccessful. Is their any special way for sharing USB HDD? Please help me. Many thanks.
Nope, there is no special or separate method for sharing external or any USB drives on the network. It is done in the same way like sharing anything else. I think you might have done some mistakes in sharing process. So would suggest you to simply follow the step by step process provided here http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/l.../bb727037.aspx for sharing files over Vista. By the way, what operating systems other computers using on the network? Are they able to see your shared files ?
