How do I turn off or remove Group Policy on an XP Pro computer?

I need some help here to restore settings of a client computer that I am using. I had installed Windows Live One Care. After the installation I cannot access any settings to configure file sharing and firewall. There is a printer which is shared on the network for all. I can see it but somehow I am not able to use it. The same is applicable for the shared drive. I tried to modify the firewall settings but somehow it is not applied. It remains unsaved. I need some help to remove the gpo from a computer and then I will reconfigure everything from scratch.

Just try to uninstall Windows Live One Care and then check back. I think this will sort out the issue that you are facing. You can check the settings after removing One Care and see whether it works fine or not. If that does not work then it looks the settings are being disabled. Try system restore I think that might help you.
