Word 2007 cannot open .doc* files from attachments.

There are users who cannot open Word documents from attachments within Outlook 2007. We have installed Office 2007 Pro on Vista. If the use double click the attachment, then word opens to a blank page. When the document is saved to a location, then it will open with a double click but any mouse related editing does not work and the options page is all greyed out as well. I have removed and reinstalled but that didnt work. We can only solve this one workstation by completeing an OS reinstallation. Is there any other way to do this. Thanks.

Even I am having the same problem, I have got 3 workstations out of the 100 installs that will do the same thing. I would also like to hear some solutions to fix this thing.

I am having the same problem with Outlook 2007 and not being able to use my mouse in Word 2007. Robert or Patrick, have either of you found the answer to this?

I am having this problem too on xp sp3 and office 2007 enterprise. you can edit documents but have to use the arrow keys to get around and you do not have all of the editing capabilities.
