Can anyone tell me if it is possible to join a Mac OS X Leopard computer to a Windows Server 2003 AD domain? I want to do things like sharing files, share an internet connection and many more things. Thanks.
Follow the below steps:
- First of all go to the Directory Utility -> /Applications/Utilities/
- After that you need to click the Advanced Settings Button -> Buttons should appear on the top and then click Services
- You need to ensure that you are authenticated to makes changes -> click the lock and login and then double-click the Active Directory
- Now you have to type in your domain in "Active Directory Domain" -> ex. (mydomain.com) watch out if your domain ends with .local opposed to .com or .net, you need to disable bonjour if it ends with .local and then click bind
- After that you need to enter in username and password -> just the username NOT user@mydomain.com or MYDOMAIN\User
- Lastly click on ok and you are done.
