I am trying to install Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack but whenever i am running FileFormatConverts.exe. i am getting an error message saying "The installation of this package failed." I dont know why i am getting that error message. I need to install it some how as soon as possible so any help will be highly appreciated.
Are you running FileFormatConverts.exe with administrative rights to that computer? I have come across some people who have faced exactly the same error while running FileFormatConverts.exe but later when they ran it with administrator account it got installed without any issues. I think you are missing same thing in you case, check it out and post back if you are able to install it using admin account, best of luck.
Had to save it to the desktop vs. pulling across a network drive then used runas, system administrator, and it worked.
