Where is the XP-SP3 install iso download?
Where is the official download for: Windows-XP SP3 Full-Install (bootable) ISO?
It's time to re-install again but I can't seem to find the download link.
To claifiy, I have a valid-key but I'm still using my early 2002 OEM CD from
a vendor that long-since disappeared. There's no sense in wasting 8-12 hours
doing 6 years of windows-updates and hunting down new drivers (again..). Way
easier to grab the latest version all in one shot.
Thanks,
Re: Where is the XP-SP3 install iso download?
There isn't one, SP3 is still beta.

Not available! You will only be able to download the full "network
install" service pack 3 and you then will have to "slipstream" it.
There has never been a complete ISO file with a bootable install ever
for general download. (MSDN program may have one (????))
As previously stated, SP3 has not been made available yet.

If you read the messages here and other groups you will see that people
are having issues with it. And being pre-release it don't surprise me.
I played with Nlite, a program to do the integration of patches and SP's
to your cd and after hours of working etc, I'm of the opinion that the
process is just too flawed. It worked BUT... I lost at least one dll,
had issues with it now loading everything, and in general I didn't
trust it. I was warned, but I had a spare drive and wanted to test it.
That first hand thing.
And with High speed FIOS, its takes only 1 hour to download and install
all the patches. I now have an image of a virgin machine I can load
anytime to bring it to 3-31-08 status.
Another item you can think about is load it at home and then if you have
modem dial-up, try to take it to someone's house that has
cable/dsl/fios. I've done 56K modem on major updates.... NOT!
Slipstream of a major SP is easy and fun. There are plenty of sites out
there with directions. That you can do and it would save a good bit of
time.
You'll still have to hunt down drivers maybe. SP2 may not help OEM
drivers.

SP3 for Windows XP is not full release yet.
SP2 + Post SP2 patches is what you want.
You could get all the patches at once this way:

Good luck (Integrate all you can - make your life easier.)

Thanks all!
Leave it to Microsoft to make life easy right? ;-)
I'll look 'n see what problems others are having then either slipstream SP2,
or SP3-RC-x. This points me in the right direction though, and now I know
what to look for. I appreciate all the links, and warnings.
To who ever said it - the OS is in a mood to crash it'self - everyday! I'm
just trying to claw my way back to productivity... :-(
