router has DNS configuration problems

Some routers don't display the IP it gets from the modem on their connection
settings when it is set to DHCP mode. They usually have a Status tab, where
the current IP, Mask, Gateway and DNS it gets from the modem are displayed.
If it fails to get DNS addresses from the modem, contact your ISP for DNS
addresses you can configure in the router.
Cable modems usually will only supply only one IP address to one MAC
address, like a router or a computer. If connect your computer to the Modem,
then disconnect it, and connect a router, many times you have to power cycle
the modem in order clear its Arp cache to allow the router to get an IP from
the Modem.
