SP1 for Vista won't install
I already have Windows Vista installed on one of my desktop since a year and is working fine. Yesterday I was trying to install Service Pack one on the same. Installation starts fine but later few minutes, in half way of the installation, it gets stuck with and error code 0x800B0100 and wont get ahead.
I tried installing various times but the same problem everytime. Also tried searching web for some help but dint found anything working. Can anyone here please help me out with this? Many thanks.
Re: SP1 for Vista won't install
You are not alone with this problem friend, there are many more getting the same error code while installing SP1 on vista. Anyways, I found a KB Article describing the problem with SP1 installation with solution. I think you should check out the same. Hope you get some help. See this: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/947366
RE: SP1 for Vista won't install
I had many problems installing SP1. Atlast I ended up downloading the full 400MB+ file and installed it using "Run as
Administrator" for it to actually work. Give it a try, hope it works for you as well.
RE: SP1 for Vista won't install
The only working solution to fix SP1 error code 0x800B0100 is to run the installation “As an Administrator”. I wasted a week struggling with this error code and finally got it installed doing the same. Microsoft should have mentioned this somewhere so that people don’t need to waste their time.
