Word 2007 Crashes & Scroll- & Outlook- bars frozen
I’m running Office 2007 on Windows Vista. MS Word and other applications were working fine but when I launched Outllok 2007 I noticed that the scroll bars and Outlook bar on such pages as the options pages are effectively frozen. After a day or two even Word or Excel started crashing. It was a new Office CD. I even removed it completely and re-installed Office but still the same problem occurs. Any help on this?
Re: Word 2007 Crashes & Scroll- & Outlook- bars frozen
i had the same problem.
And yes, i fixed it was an issue in the registry.
Here it is the solution:
Open de regedit (start -> Run-> enter "regedit"). Then go to:
1. CURRENT_USER/Software/Microsoft/Office/Word
and modify Addins -> oldAddins
2. CURRENT_USER/Software/Microsoft/Office/12.0/Word
and modify Data -> oldData
and modify Options -> oldOptions
3. LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/Microsoft/Office/Word
and modify Addins -> oldAddins
(i didn't have this one in my registry)
Re: Word 2007 Crashes & Scroll- & Outlook- bars frozen
have no idea what i just did, but waldo's solution worked for me, cheers!
(followed steps 2. & 3. only, as I did not have "Addins" at "CURRENT_USER/Software/Microsoft/Office/Word").
hope this will resolve the issue once and for all as i've already had this happen once (sidebars freezing and word crashing) although with another faulty module if I remember well, and the solution then, if I remember well, had to do with the "normal template" in word which I think I had to modify.
