I need some help to install Vista on my system. I am not able to perform a clean installation. I am using Windows XP. It came pre-installed with the system. I got a beta dvd of Vista. When I boot the system with that there is no hard drive detected. My system is having a 32GB Barracuda SATA Hard drive in it. And the motherboard that I am using is Gigabyte P35. I do not understand that this is a hardware issue or software. I need some help to deal with the same. Thanks.

Download and install Seagate Disk Tools in your system. This tool are capable of giving you information on your current drive status. If there is any problem with the drive then it is recommended that you avoid any fresh installation. The second option is add SATA drivers in your system and then run the setup. Your Vista disc does not has SATA drivers because of which it is unable to find the same.
