disk.sys stop 0x00000050 page fault
I'm running server 2k3 ent x64, 8gig ram. After installing just the OS off
the CD, the system is fine. But once I start patching or install the chipset
drivers, the system starts bluescreening on an almost clockwork basis. I
tried installing hotfix 929161 as it was the only disk.sys related fix I
could find. Still no luck. OCA just says driver issue, and doesn't give any
specific ideas. Does anyone have any ideas?
RE: disk.sys stop 0x00000050 page fault
I have the same exact problem. I haven't tried the hotfix you mention.
System seems to run for a few hours, then bang. other times, it fails right
away. I have run memory diagnostics from Dell as well as memtest to no
avail. I am getting the same "PAGE_FAULT_IN_NON_PAGED_AREA".
Re: disk.sys stop 0x00000050 page fault
Same here... Windows 2K3 SP 3.5... tried memtest.. was useless
BSOD starting to piss me off... and for some reason it always crashes
if I login (but not open) Skype...
Re: disk.sys stop 0x00000050 page fault
I had this problem too. I was getting BSODs randomly with Windows XP Pro x64 with the disk.sys error. It also occurred when I logged into Skype.
For me the solution seems to have been to uninstall X1 Desktop Search.
Hope this helps others.
