services.exe - Application Error.... How do I fix?
This is windows XP computer which was working great so far with SP1. Yesterday I upgraded it to Service Pack 2 and today morning I ran Windows Update and installed every updates listed. Until then PC was working fine as usual until the reboot. When it came back from restart the only thing I was able to see was a Blank and Black screen with just my mouse pointer. No keyboard keys are working.
I restarted the system again by pressing restart button on my cabinet to boot into Safe Mode but yet no keys are working on the boot screen so that I can press F8 key or select Safe Mode. Due to the same Iām also not able to run Recovery or Setup as well.
Do anyone of you have came across such situation ever? Please provide some solution for this. Many thanks.
Re: services.exe - Application Error.... How do I fix?
First of all make sure that your keyboard is working by connecting it on some another computer. If it is working but not on your computer then I will suggest you to arrange a PS/2 keyboard because I guess yours is USB keyboard and there might be some driver problem which is preventing it to work anymore on your system. PS/2 will work fine on such systems as well.
Once done, restart the system, press F8 and select "Safe Mode with Command Prompt." Now you know what you have to do. For more help you can also check this āHOW TO Start System Restore Tool from Command Prompt (Q304449)ā
