office 2007 error file currently in use please try again later
This is a Windows Vista Business 32 bit computer connected to a Windows 2003 64 bit server domain. Whenever I try opening an excel file from server I Keep getting an error message saying “File currently in use please try again later.” It is Office 2007. The only solution to fix this problem is to reboot the entire server but this is not the permanent solution, right?
Any help please?

Did you ever find a solution to this problem? We are having it now. Same problem in Office 2003. Disabling OpLocks on the client resoves the issue for 2003, but not 2007.
Thanks,

Thanks,
This issue may occur when the shared workbook is open in Microsoft Quick View or when you are attempting to save the workbook while another user is opening the file in Microsoft Excel. So to solve this issue, close the file in Quick View before you attempt to save the shared workbook. For more information check here.
