computer will only start up in safe mode

Today in the morning when I started my computer then it was only showing the black microsoft screen and will not go to the next login screen. It will also not shut down either and I did manually turn it off and when the screen came up I opened it in safe mode. It will run on this mode, but after restarted then it again hang on the same black screen? What seems to be the problem here?

Have you checked anything in the Event Log for some error or something. You can go into same by clicking on Start and then run and then type in eventvwr and click ok.

So in the applications log I found the below things:

The com+ system detected a bad return code during its internal processing HRESULT 8007043C FROM LINE 44 OF D:\QXP_SLP\COM\COMLX\SRDEVENTS\TIER1\EVENTSYSTEMOBJ.CPP

There are also many errors in the system based on Dcom and the dns client service.

Can you go to start and then run and type msconfig. After that go to the startup tab and untick everything and then restart. Check now whether you are able to boot normally. If yes then try to tick mark only the items that are working in normal mode.
