Unable to open Word or Excel attachments recd in email

I have installed Office PRo 2007 on my Vista machine. A couple of days prior, I cannot open any Word or Excel files that I get as an attachment in my emails, in Outlook 2007. I usually have to save the files to a location and then open them from the application, and after that double clicking on the file also doesnt work. The only thing that was recently done was the office update a few days back. I also use another app called GoldMine and I am having the same issue there as well, if I click on the attachment then I an getting this error message - Cannot Run C:......xls or .doc ShellExec Error:2. Any ideas?

What exact error are you facing. Just disable your antivirus and then check back. I think the problem lies with antivirus in your system which is blocking the files. The other thing you can try is re-installing office once again so that if there is any bug with internal file it can be resolved quiet easily. I am sure it is not at all complicated to find out a proper solution for the same.
