Task bar with autohide covers system tray popup messages
I use auto hide for my task bar (one line high) at the bottom of the screen.
When I raise the task bar and then mouse-over icons in the system tray,
their ballow message is hidden behind the task bar/tray. Is there any way to
make Windows realize the ballons have to be higher?
RE: Task bar with autohide covers system tray popup messages
This is an ongoing problem with XP as far as I know their is no fix
except for a reboot.

NeoSmart Technologies has created a (free) fix for the infamous bug,
present in all versions of Windows from XP downward, where tooltips
appear below/behind the taskbar making it impossible to read what they
say and requiring you to reboot or log off to reset them to their
default behavior.
ToolTipFixer is a free patch that addresses this issue, ensuring that
tooltips that show up when you hover over an icon in the tray appear
_above_ the taskbar, putting an end to this pesky bug.
ToolTipFixer is 100% free (and no spyware/malware/etc. either).
This is a documented bug in Windows, here's the link to the
Knowledgebase article on the topic (marked as no solutions available):

I'm using it on a few of my PCs. This is not a standard application
but a Windows "service."
